Our Story

Back in 2017, Kernel Afrika was founded to plug the cyber security gap for organisations across Africa. At that stage, we were mainly based in Bryanston, Johannesburg, but along with our partner, the_kernel, headquartered in Dubai and with offices in Sweden, Russia, and the United Kingdom, we are well-supported and offer expertise underscored by decades of diverse experience.

There are definite challenges when it comes to cyber security awareness and preparedness in Africa, and we saw this as a powerful reason to get involved in educating and resolving some of the challenges.

Our approach is solution-oriented and aimed at addressing real-world IT security challenges faced by South African and African businesses across multiple sectors.

We focus on the entire lifecycle of security needed by organisations - from awareness to detection to mitigation. And at Kernel Afrika, we strictly adhere to the industry standards and follow the cyber security framework.
